High temperatures for the season are predicted until next Monday (+1°C in Lamoura this morning), and no snow in the near forecast for the Jura Mountains; That’s why at this point of the organization of La Transjurassienne the technical staff gathered this afternoon and took the following decisions:
* The direction Lamoura – Mouthe is maintained * The facilities of the finish area will be set in Mouthe as planned (tent for public, changing room, racers’ restaurant…). Shuttles will transport the racers to the finish line if the finish line is not in Mouthe. * The 76 Km event on Sunday will be reduced to 55 or 50 Km.
At this point (Wednesday, 31st January 2007), all the races of La Transjurassienne are maintained.
Considering the current snow conditions on the usual course from Lamoura to Mouthe, La Transjurassienne 76 Km will be reduced to a distance of 50 up to 60 Km. The 54 Km event of Sunday will have the same hours and the same track.
La Transju'Classic on Saturday is maintained on this same course.
The current trend is a crossing taking the spine of the traditional Transjurassienne course with a start in Les Rousses and a finish in Mouthe area or the nearest possible.
The Transjeune events scheduled on Wednesday 7th February are also mainatined on Les Rousses.
The evolution of the snow coverage and of the near weather forecast may lead us to take some different decisions.
It will be possible to register on-line until Tuesday, 6th February, midnight.
The final decisions will be taken on Monday, 5th February in the morning.
The official decisions, the final course, the new hours, and all changes concerning the events will be published on our website.
